P02 - Evaluation of lung injury and inflammation induced by organophosphorus compounds using precision cut lung slices (PCLS)
In the previous study period interactions of organophosphorus compounds (OP; include nerve agents and pesticides) with PCLS were investigated. We identified inhibition of acetylcholinesterase and inflammation as independent mechanisms resulting in lung tissue damage. The aim of the current project is to gain further novel mechanistic insights into OP-mediated lung damage.
