P02 - Investigation of novel therapeutic approaches in organophosphate-induced lung injury using precision cut lung slices

In the previous study period interactions of organophosphorus compounds (OP; include nerve agents and pesticides) with PCLS were investigated. We identified inhibition of acetylcholinesterase and inflammation as independent mechanisms resulting in lung tissue damage. The aim of this project is to therapeutically address the two underlying mechanisms of tissue damage and mitigate their toxic effects.
